The future of Star Wars was revealed during the Celebration in London, with the announcement of three new films. One of them, set 15 years after Episode IX, will narrate the reconstruction of the Jedi Order by Rey Skywalker. After GFR targeted the return of Mark Hamill and Hayden Christensen like Luke and Anakin respectively, Hamill himself has addressed this issue.
As might be expected, the actor has not cleared up the doubt. In an interview with Esquire, he recalled that Lucasfilm is characterized as a company that takes confidentiality very seriously: “One thing you learn working for Lucasfilm is that everything is confidential.. If he was involved he couldn’t tell you… and if he wasn’t he couldn’t tell you either. So I don’t know, we’ll find out together I guess.”
A Luke Skywalker series?
Luke Skywalker not only made an appearance in the sequel trilogy, but has been rescued in both The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. Since then, there have been many who have requested a series starring the teacher after the events of Return of the Jedi. “I don’t think so,” Hamill replied in the same interview. “First of all because They don’t need to tell these storiesbut if they did, they could cast an actor that matches the age” of the character.
the film about The New Jedi Order will be directed by Sharmeed Obaid-Chinoy, one of the filmmakers behind Ms. Marvel. Lucasfilm is also preparing a film about rise of the jedi (James Mangold) and a film in which the plots of the MandoVerso (Dave Filoni) will come together. On the other hand, Taika Waititi continues to write the script for his tape. Other projects remain in the air, such as that of Rian Johnson, the director of The Last Jedi, although there is a will to do something in the future.
